Four gentlemen bikers from Central MA stayed with us last night. They had quite the adventure with the raging thunderstorms Friday afternoon in the Danville area. They parked at a friend's farm in Barnet and are doing a two-day loop. We were a bit concerned last night when they still had not arrived at 9. They were planning to stop at The Den Eats at Harry's Hardware in Cabot. They just made it before closing at 8. At 9:30 the telltale signs of flashing headlights started to appear. It is quite a climb up here from Cabot (1,800') after spending most of the day gravel grinding.
"We loved the accommodations. (Butternut Room and Alcott Suite) Our hosts were super friendly and the homemade pancakes with blueberries gown on site were amazing." *They mapped out a return route that will connect them this morning to the LVRT at Walden Station. They are aware of that they may encounter post-storm issues at some point.
This evening, July8, we have our first scheduled pick up for a gentleman biking from west to east on the LVRT. Pick up at Nacho Mama in West Danville at 6:30 and a return trip to the LVRT after breakfast Sunday morning.
