Applesauce Sunday at Fruitlands. Start to finish it will be about 4 hours. 80 lbs. of organic Cortlands. Most of this will be served to our B&B guests for the starter course at the breakfast table in 2025. That Italian tomato mill is so fast and squeezes every last drop.
*Just one of the reasons that Cortland is our favorite apple to grow (for nearly 50 years), is illustrated in the photo of the bowl with cut-up pieces ready for the big cooking pot. In open air for over 30 minutes and the flesh remains white. They are just the right acidity. Compare that to a Delicious apple that turns brown before you take the second bite.
